Begin on the Easy Orchid Track that takes you through a range of amazing native vegetation that has adapted to the harsh Australian environment and poor soils of this ancient sand dune system upon which this area was built.
You can then join the Currawong Loop for a longer moderate hike.
The Padthaway Conservation Park Orchid Track Interpretive brochure can be found here.
he Padthaway Conservation Park is ideal for birdwatchers. The park conserves a remnant block of native vegetation, which is dominated by South Australian blue gum, manna gum and stringybarks, making it a haven for native birdlife.
Stroll along the walking trails, keep an eye out for orchids and marvel at the sights and sounds of birdlife or enjoy a picnic beneath the shade of the gums trees. You may even spot a koala enjoying its own picnic among the eucalypt branches.
More information can be found on the Padthaway Conservation Park website.
