Where Mountain Biking Meets Bush Camping
Kuitpo Forest is South Australia’s most popular mountain biking destination, and the free campground at its heart makes it possible to ride until sunset and start again at dawn. The forest combines pine plantation with pockets of native bushland, threaded by a network of purpose-built single tracks and fire trails that cater to riders from beginner to expert level.
The camping areas are set among tall pines, offering flat, sheltered sites with fire rings and pit toilets. The forest is also popular with horse riders and bushwalkers, with designated trails for each. In autumn, the exotic deciduous trees in the forest turn golden and red, creating a landscape more reminiscent of Europe than Australia.
Planning Your Stay
