Planning Tips

Best time to visit: Autumn and spring are ideal for walking. Summer can be very hot but beaches are stunning. Winter offers good wildlife viewing.

Book national park sites early: Coffin Bay NP and Memory Cove fill up fast, especially during school holidays.

4WD recommended: Many of the best camping spots and coastal walks require a 4WD.

Supplies: Port Lincoln is well-stocked; smaller towns like Coffin Bay have limited provisions. Stock up before heading to remote areas.

Guided tours: The Eyre Peninsula has excellent guided wildlife, coastal, and marine tours including shark cage diving and sea lion swimming. See our Eyre Peninsula tours guide for details.
