| Description | | Minlaton Walk starts at the Visitor Information Centre and heads north along the Main Street to the H J Cook Fauna Park which contains emus, wallabies and kangaroos. From there you head past the basketball courts, meandering through bush and along the edge of the golf course. Along the walk there are interpretive signs regarding the River Red gums – Minlaton is the only area on the Southern Yorke Peninsula that these trees grow naturally. There are also signs about the early settlement of the area which was known as Gum Flat. There are two options to finish the walk – follow the trail through the Sheoak Grove and continue back to Harvest Corner (approx 1 hour return). The alternative finish takes you through to the Bird Hide and then along the Main Street past the Minlaton Town Hall back to Harvest Corner (approx 2 hour return) |
